CREDICORP consumer credit

Figures below refer to 20 June 2026 unless stated otherwise.

The claim

The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation extended consumer credit to a growing number of Nigerians.

Figures

227,728 Nigerians reached with consumer credit as at 20 June 2026, working with 35 financial institutions, with the corporation claiming zero non-performing loans to date. Programmes include the Mobility Initiative for three-wheelers, Women in Mobility targeting 10,000 women entrepreneurs, and S.C.A.L.E. across 15 industries, with a target to finance 20,000 assembled-in-Nigeria vehicles. A further ₦45.2bn to 500,000 Nigerians for cars, phones and devices has been ANNOUNCED.

The counter-argument

The ₦45.2bn / 500,000 figure is a plan, not a delivery. The delivered number is 227,728 people. Never cite the plan as an achievement without saying it is a plan.
